Frequently asked questions

Here you'll find the answer to all your questions on the course.
Before the course
  • How much does the course cost?

The course costs £6,900 and is paid in instalments over 5 months. You can get a discount to £6,500 for paying up-front. Full information on our price and financing options is available on this page .

  • How long is the course and how much time do I have to dedicate?

The course lasts for 6 months and is full-time. That means you'll be in lessons every morning and working on practical exercises and projects every afternoon, Monday-Friday, for 6 months from the start date. You will not be able to dedicate sufficient time to this if you also have other work or study commitments.

  • What will I learn?

You'll cover a number of topics fundamental to becoming a modern software developer. Specifically we cover HTML, CSS, Javascript, Typescript, React, Testing, and Node.js. You'll also learn skills like problem solving and teamwork, as well as tech skills like debugging and refactoring. Most importantly you'll learn how to quickly learn new concepts and technologies and apply these to real world problems.

  • How big are the classes?

On average the classes are between 25 and 35 students, with three teachers assigned to each class.

  • Am I allowed to take holidays or time off?

Live teaching and interaction with instructors and classmates is fundamental to your success as a learner at Boolean. You must do everything you can to attend all lessons. In addition, to be eligible for the Money Back guarantee, you'll need to attend 90% of lessons. However, we understand that life happens, and so if something comes up that prevents you from attending a lesson, you'll be able to access the lesson recording to catch up.

  • What are the requirements for the course?

In terms of who should apply, our only requirements are that you're over 18, you have good English language skills, and that you have the passion, motivation, and drive to work hard and the desire to become a software engineer. You don't need to have a degree or any qualifications, and any previous coding experience is a bonus but not required. In terms of equipment, you'll need a laptop with webcam and microphone, and a stable internet connection, and a place to work from. A second monitor, separate keyboard/mouse and ergonomic chair can all improve your comfort while coding but are not essential.

  • How do I apply? What's the process?

Click the "Apply now" button on our website to start the admissions process. Once you've filled in the application form, you'll be able to book a 30 min video interview with our Admissions Manager. Prepare to talk about why you want to become a developer, and bring your questions about Boolean! If you're successful at interview, we'll ask you to pass a short ~20 min logic test to demonstrate problem solving skills required for the course.

After the course
  • Will I definitely be hired?

As shown by many studies, software engineering is one of the most in-demand skills in the UK. Boolean provides you with all the competencies that companies require for you to be able to do this job well. As well as training you to our best ability as Software Engineers, we'll also help you during your job search and put your profile on our platform for all our hiring partners to see. Ultimately, though, it's down to you and how much hard work and effort you put into learning to code, and looking for jobs.

  • Once the course is finished, will I be supported during my job search?

Of course! We'll be by your side during the whole job search: you'll be able to do practice job interviews, we'll help you optimise your CV and digital profile, and we'll help you improve your job searching process. In addition, you'll also have your profile visible on our Hiring Platform which we'll present to the many hiring partners that work with us. Remember: your success is ours!

  • What type of certificate will I get?

We provide you with a certificate of attendance which outlines the number of hours you've completed and the main subjects you've covered (HTML, CSS, Javascript, React, Typescript, Node.JS, Testing).

  • How long does it take to get a job after the course?

That depends from person to person, for some it can take days, for others it can take weeks or months. The average for Boolean students is 2-3 months, although external factors (such as the pandemic) can impact this time. Our Money Back guarantee states that if you've tried hard to find a job and haven't found one after 6 months, you'll get a full refund of the course fees.
