What you will learn to do
Thanks to the Data Analytics course, you will acquire skills in processing and extracting information from databases. You will learn to query a database and will be able to explore and analyze data using programming languages like Python and widely adopted libraries in the industry, then apply the most common visualization and storytelling tools in the field.
Database Management and Querying
You will become proficient in SQL, the Database language, with which you can create, extract, modify, aggregate, and query increasingly large data sets through efficient queries useful for multiple analysis tasks.
Python: From Basics to Data Analysis
You will learn how to use Python from scratch, leveraging the capabilities of its most renowned analysis and visualization libraries, including Numpy, Pandas, and Matplotlib. With Python, you will learn to clean and organize data, interface with APIs, and write scripts to automate the most repetitive tasks of your job.
Basic Statistics and Hypothesis Testing
You will learn the basics of statistics and probability, be able to verify the distribution of your data, and conduct a hypothesis test to design and execute an A/B test effectively and correctly. You will discover this world from both an intuitive theoretical perspective and a practical one, with real implementations written in Python.
Data Visualisation & Storytelling
Thanks to Python and specialized software like Tableau, you will learn to structure and present complex reports with ease and speed. You will be able to create graphs and dashboards that "talk to each other," allowing you to deeply analyze data and build an effective narrative.
Web Scraping & Machine Learning
The last two weeks of the course, before the final project, are dedicated to deepening two highly topical subjects, web scraping and machine learning.
Final project
In the course's final two weeks, students collaborate on a capstone project involving dataset sourcing/cleaning, data analysis, insight extraction, and graphical representation using analytical and visualization tools. This phase is a critical opportunity to showcase your skills and apply your data analyst mindset.

Who can take the Data Analytics course?
Anyone who wants to become a data analyst with an accelerated learning journey can take our course. You can start completely from scratch and just need to be over 18 to sign up. If you’ve never analysed data before, or if you’ve already taken some courses but feel that you haven’t done enough to boost your career in tech, Boolean is the course for you.
Can I follow the course from anywhere in the world?
The course is taught in English, and follows the time zone of the UK. You can apply for the course if you're in the UK or Europe, as long as you have good English skills and are able to follow along the timetable of study.
What skills do I need to have to start the course?
Although the course starts from scratch, because the nature of data analysis is so closely tied to fundamental maths principles, we do ask that you have some kind of maths or analytical background. This could be through education (e.g. a STEM degree) or through work experience (in an analytical role).
Can I take the course while I work or study?
The Data Analytics course is part-time. You will be able to work or study alongside learning at Boolean.
What are the course hours?
The part-time course is Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7-9pm and every other Saturday 9am-1pm for 20 weeks. You also have dedicated tutor slots during the week for part-time.
What is Boolean’s Future Earnings Agreement?
Pay a small deposit to secure your place and don’t pay anything until you get a job earning over a mininum salary. Then you’ll make monthly repayments calculated as a percentage of your income. This option is available to all EU and UK residents, though specific eligibility criteria apply.
